New Feature: Country Top Five Rankings
Starting today, a new ranking is available at Rankings / Country Top Five, showing the top active players by country. The ranking is based on the Green Ranking, with ties broken first by the Red Ranking and then by the Blue Ranking.

Ancient and Traditional Games
The Nine Men's Morris Rating will change its name to Ancient and Traditional Games Rating and will include additional games (Fanorona and others) starting in May 2025. Only at a later date will this category also include games such as Senet and Tablut.

Sanction Notice
We wish to inform you that we have received a report of potentially improper conduct by a player during the 2024 Abalone tournament. After careful analysis, we have decided to propose the following sanction to the player: the player's results from the 2024 and 2025 Abalone tournaments will not be taken into account in the 2025 and 2026 rankings. The 2024 ranking, now consolidated, will remain unchanged. The involved player has accepted the sanction.

Connection Games and Tile Games
The Conhex Rating will change its name to Connection Games Rating and will include other connection games (Havannah and others) starting in April 2025. Hex and Twixt will continue to have their own ratings. The Linkage Rating will change its name to Tile Games Rating and will include other tile games (Four and others) starting in April 2025. Battle of Lits will maintain a separate rating.

PerGioco Masters 2024: Prizes
Marc Tastet, winner of the PerGioco Masters Trophy (Green Ranking) wins a voucher for a one-year subscription to BoardGameArena. The second and third place winners (Maurizio de Leo and Fabio Buccoliero) win a voucher for two months and one month of BGA subscription, respectively.
The winners of the Red Ranking and Blue Ranking (Fabio Buccoliero and Marc Tastet) win a voucher for three months of BGA subscription; the second place winners (Maciej Brzeski and Maurizio De Leo) win a voucher for two months of BGA subscription; the third place winners (Yuki Shibata and Gianfranco Sartoretti) win a voucher for one month of BGA subscription. These prizes can be converted into Amazon vouchers.
Fabio Buccoliero, Gianfranco Sartoretti, Pietro Rossi, Marco Bandiera, Andrea Gollo (in the first 15 places of the Green Ranking) win a copy of Il Manuale dei Giochi di Tavoliere (2nd volume - 2024).

PerGioco Masters 2025: A Global Celebration of Abstract Games
The PerGioco Masters 2025 kicks off on January 2nd, continuing the tradition since 2001. With thousands of participants over the years, including more than 200 active players from over 40 countries, and more than 100 tournaments annually, this is the ultimate event for abstract game enthusiasts.
This year, we’re introducing some exciting changes to the scoring system, designed to make the competition even more dynamic and engaging. Stay tuned for detailed updates on how these new rules will affect the rankings and tournament outcomes!
The year-long, multi-game, multi-platform competition covers a wide range of abstract games, played in both real-time and turn-based formats. Tournaments will take place on PlayStrategy, BoardGameArena, and AbstractPlay, giving players multiple ways to compete and enjoy their favorite games.

The End of PerGioco Masters 2024: A Remarkable Year of Abstract Games
The PerGioco Masters 2024 has officially come to a close, marking another milestone in the history of this global event. This year’s edition showcased the thriving international community of abstract game enthusiasts, delivering a year-long celebration of strategy, skill, and camaraderie.
Spanning multiple platforms and featuring an impressive array of games, the 2024 edition saw over 180 tournaments covering around seventy different games played across PlayStrategy, BoardGameArena, and AbstractPlay. These tournaments brought together 190 active registered players hailing from 46 countries, underscoring the truly global nature of the competition. Throughout the year, more than 8,000 games were played, offering countless moments of tension, creativity, and triumph.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all participants for their dedication and sportsmanship. The PerGioco Masters thrives because of the passion and commitment of its players, who embody the spirit of this unique competition.
Special congratulations are in order for the standout winners of this year’s event. Marc Tastet (FRA) claimed victory in the PerGioco Masters 2024 Trophy (Green Ranking) for the fourth consecutive year, showcasing exceptional skill and strategic mastery. Maurizio De Leo (SGP) and Fabio Buccoliero (ITA) secured the second and third places, respectively.
In the Red Ranking, which highlights the best ratings, Fabio Buccoliero (ITA) emerged as the champion, followed by Maciej Brzeski (POL) in second place and Yuki Shibata (JPN) in third. Lastly, the overall ranking based on the sum of all ratings saw Marc Tastet (FRA) take the top spot, with Maurizio De Leo (SGP) and Gianfranco Sartoretti (ITA) finishing in second and third places, respectively.

PerGioco Masters is a multi-game, multi-platform competition. It features a series of abstract game tournaments held either in real time or turn-based, running throughout the year.
By taking part in one or more tournaments, players earn a rating for each individual game. Both the total and the average of these ratings are used to determine the final rankings.
To take part in the tournament, you must have an account on the platforms used. You also need to complete your registration by clicking the red button on this page.
The tournament features three leaderboards: the first (BLUE) is based on the total of all active PGRs; the second (RED) is based on the best average of active PGRs; and the third (GREEN) combines the results of the first two.
