Rules

1. "PerGioco Masters 2025" is a series of abstract games online tournaments (hereinafter referred to as "PGMasters”), organized by the site administrator www.pergioco.net (later referred to as "Organization"). The stages of PGMasters feed the PerGioco Rating and use it to determine the final ranking.
2. PGMasters takes place in stages. Each stage consists of a real-time or turn-based tournament, open to all or by invitation, with a Round-Robin system or with an Italian-Swiss system. The platforms used are the following: Boardgamearena.com, Playstrategy.org, Play.Abstractplay.com.
The calendar of the stages is published on the website www.pergioco.net. PGMasters starts on January 2, 2025, and ends on December 31, 2025.

3. PGMasters is open to all individuals aged 16 or over. To participate you must:
- have a free account on the used platforms;
- proceed with registration and certification on the page www.pergioco.net/live/pgmasters/registration.html.
For the Playstrategy.org platform it is also necessary to subscribe to the https://playstrategy.org/team/pergioco-masters group.
The registration data must correspond to those indicated in the identity document. The communication of false data involves the zeroing of the score obtained and the immediate exclusion from the rankings of PGMasters, which can be decided by the Organization at any time, even when PGMasters has started or ended. The Organization reserves the right to request verification of the identity document at any time.
4. Registration for PGMasters can be done at any time, even after PGMasters has started. Registration implies acceptance of these regulations and authorization to process personal data, in accordance with the rules published on the page www.pergioco.net/privacy.html.
5. Registration for the individual stages called "PerGioco Masters" on the Boardgamearena.com, Playstrategy.org and Play.Abstractplay.com platforms without simultaneous registration on the www.pergioco.net site entails registration for PGMasters as "non-certified participant" and exclusion from assigning the rating and score.
6. Registration for PGMasters entitles you to receive free PerGioco.net newsletters. Registration also allows you to participate in tournaments organized by PerGioco.net in the future.

7. Participation in PGMasters is free and strictly personal: it is forbidden to be helped by other people during the stages. It is forbidden to register with more than one account, and it is forbidden to change the nickname of the account on the platforms used during PGMasters. It is also forbidden to use software or other applications during the stages. Failure to comply with these rules may result in immediate exclusion from PGMasters, which can be decided by the Organization at any time, even when PGMasters has started or ended.
8. After registering on PerGioco.net (see point 3), the participant can independently register for PGMasters stages provided for in the calendar on the platforms used.
9. At the end of each stage, the PerGioco Rating of each participant is updated and published.
10. At the end of PGMasters, rankings are drawn up which take into account the active PerGioco Rating of the individual games.
11. It is not compulsory to participate in all stages.
12. Participation in PGMasters implies the authorization to publish the participant's data (name, surname, city and country of residence) in the rankings published online on the website www.pergioco.net or in any paper brochures.

13. PGMasters calendar is published and updated on the page www.pergioco.net/live/pgmasters/pgmasters-schedule-25.html. The schedule can be changed at any time during PGMasters.
14. The winners of PGMasters Trophy will receive prizes being defined.

15. The Organization is not responsible for any malfunctions or errors attributable to the gaming platforms used.
16. Any complaints must be sent in Italian or in English using the form found on the page www.pergioco.net/live/pgmasters/pgmasters-complaints.html.
17. The Organization reserves the right to modify the Regulations, if necessary, also during PGMasters.

Rating Rules

The goal of the PerGioco Rating ("PGR") is to create a meta-rating that can stimulate curiosity towards new games, disseminating and enhancing the world of abstract games. It does not intend in any way to replace the ratings already in use by the main abstract-game organizations.
The PGR is calculated starting from 1 October 2021.

Participation in PGMasters stages called "PerGioco Masters" allows you to get a PGR for each game.
To participate in the stages and obtain the PGR is necessary to register by clicking on "Registration".
To participate in the stages, it is also necessary to have a free account on the platforms used (Boardgamearena.com, Playstrategy.org, Play.Abstractplay.com, etc.).

The provisional score for new players for each game is 1000 points.
The score is updated at the end of each stage (or game day) using the spreadsheet which can be downloaded on the website. The parameters used are the following: development coefficient k = 20; classic rounding (three decimal places). Players with fewer than twenty matches in the single game assume an "unstable" score. Players who have not played valid matches in the current and previous year in the single game are excluded from the ranking.
The overall PGR is given by the average of the active PGRs for each game, rounded up to the next lower unit.

In stages with the Italian-Swiss system, those who do not appear at the first match do not enter the ranking and do not suffer any penalties in the PGR. Those who do not show up for a match after the first, will instead suffer a penalty (for the PGR that match is considered a defeat, but not the following ones).
The games won by the absence or abandonment of the opponent are considered for the PGR as victories. Games won for BYE are not counted as valid games for the PGR.

Active PGRs are those obtained with games played in the current and previous years.
For example: for the 2025 ranking, the PGR obtained with games played in 2024 and 2025 are taken into account. If the player played for the last time in 2023, the PGR becomes "inactive" and is not considered for the 2025 rankings of PerGioco Masters and PerGioco Rating.

The Red Ranking takes into account the best average of active PGRs in individual games. The scores obtained with at least ten active PGRs obtained are considered as a priority.
If the average rating is equal, the highest number of active PGRs obtained is taken into consideration; in the event of a further tie, the highest number of games played is taken into consideration.
The ranking becomes final on December 31 of each year.

The Blue Ranking is drawn up by adding up the active PGRs in the individual games. In the event of a tie in the sum of active PGRs, the highest number of active PGRs obtained is taken into consideration; in the event of a further tie, the highest number of games played is taken into consideration.

The green "PerGioco Masters Trophy" ranking is a combined ranking: the best fifteen players of the Blue and Red rankings are awarded 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points. The ranking is given by the sum of these scores and the Leader Points assigned by the ranking of each game or group of games (Blue Points+Red Points+Leader Points=Green Ranking Points). In the event of a tie in this ranking, the player with the highest number of games played has priority.
The ranking becomes final on December 31st of each year.
